Kathleen Lynch- Principal Investigator. I am interested in understanding neural, hormonal, and genetic mechanisms underlying diversity in social behaviors of females, specifically maternal behavior and mate choice decision-making.

 

Rebecca Leach- Biology undergraduate thesis. I am interested in the neural basis of social recognition in avian brood parasites that are not raised by their own species.

 

Joseph Coculo- Biology undergraduate thesis. I am working on the neural basis of the password hypothesis. I am interested in regions within the mesolimbic system and their role in social recognition in avian brood parasites.

 

Anne Marie Gaglio- Biology undergraduate thesis. I am broadly interested in recognitions systems in avian brood parasites.

 

Elizabeth Tyler- Biology undergraduate thesis. I am interested in mate choice decision making. I conducting behavioral experiments in female European starlings to understand the combined roles of estrogen and catecholamines on decision-making in mate choice contexts with varied prior experience.

 

Ellie the Newfie- Ellie assists in the field in any way possible and provides co-pilot support on our way to and from the Texas field site. She is available to help relieve student stress during final exams. Come visit her for some stress relief!

 

Mamacita-  MamaC was found homeless with her puppies at the Texas field site. She is learning how to co-pilot as we drive from Texas to NY. Her puppies now live in Austin, Texas and Baltimore, Maryland. She is available for student stress relief. Come visit during final exams!
